Teacher Appreciation Week is a special time to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of educators.
What better way to express your Parent Teacher Organization’s (PTO) gratitude than by creating a spa themed week that offers relaxation and rejuvenation right in the school setting?
Here’s a detailed guide to hosting a memorable Spa-Themed Teacher Appreciation Week, with unique ideas for each day.
Start with Decorations
An earthy kraft brown, green and white color scheme is an elevated combination to use for a spa-themed celebration.
Mixing shades of colors, like what’s happening with this set of brown poufs, really adds depth and interest to decoration.
And same with this mix of brown, cream and green poufs.
Adding a mix of patterns, like with this set of fan decorations, is another way to incorporate visual interest.
Balloons are a great way to decorate for an appreciation event since they’ll last all week long.
Try your hand at creating a balloon garland or arch. It’s easier than you think to make one!
Interesting balloon arches combine multiple balloon sizes.
A tassle garland is another great way to decorate the space.
A set of paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling is a lovely
Crepe paper is another great and inexpensive way to decorate a space and add splashes of color.
Set the tables in the space for the week by covering them with a serene sage green disposable table cloth to make clean up at the end of the week a snap!
Top off each table with a healthy sprinkling of this lovely confetti mix to add some visual interest.
Monday
Set up a breakfast smoothie bar where teachers can choose their ingredients for a custom-made, healthy smoothie.
You’ll want to provide a few blenders to help teachers whip up their breakfasts quickly.
Simple Green Smoothies has some delicious recipes. The Chocolate Covered Cherry smoothie is my absolute favorite!
Cups with lids are a great idea to prevent sticky spills.
Offer some grab and go options too, like these Nature Valley Protein Smoothie granola bars.
Kind bars are another great breakfast option.
Tuesday
Pop a gift bag filled with goodies to promote rest and relaxation into each staff member’s mailbox.
Eye masks are a trendy and popular self care treat all staff are sure to enjoy.
Add in a pair of moisturizing gloves or socks.
Doesn’t a steam eye mask sound wonderful?
A tube of hand lotion is always a welcome addition to any gift bag.
Same with a fresh tube of lip balm! The mint is my personal favorite, can’t live without!
A personalized, handwritten thank you note is another lovely and thoughtful addition to the gift bag.
This set of note cards matches with the rest of the decor theme oh so perfectly, giving a cohesive feel to everything!
Wednesday
Set up a refreshing luncheon in honor of your Schoo’s teachers and staff to power them through the week.
The menu can be lighter, spa-inspired fare, such as a salad bar or light sandwiches.
Either are a great option and allow guests to balance their needs based on their eating preferences.
Label the foods with a small chalkboard sign so those with food allergies or specific dietary restrictions know what they can enjoy without worry.
Set up a hydration station with infused waters with combinations like lemon and mint, strawberry and basil, or orange and rosemary.
Offer a variety of herbal teas, both hot and iced, which are perfect for soothing and warming up or cooling down, depending on the weather.
Carry the color scheme of the week through to the paper products for the luncheon.
Thursday
Bring professional massage therapists into the school to offer chair massages.
Set up a massage area in a quiet part of the school where teachers can sign up for short sessions to help relieve stress and muscle tension.
If you don’t personally know any massage therapists, beside to ask around the school.
Chances are you have a few parents who do this for a living and would be willing to discount their services or even do it for free.
Enhance the massage session by setting up an essential oil diffuser in the room.
Lavender essential oil is a great starter scent that will help everyone relax.
Friday
End the week on a sweet note with a dessert bar and a chance to win some great prizes!
Offer a mix of healthy and indulgent desserts, such as a fruit platter, chocolate, and cupcakes.
Make the most of your available table by using tiered serving pieces.
Bake the cupcakes in these fun cupcake wrappers that are so on point with the week’s color scheme.
Top off a few of the cupcakes with a cute flower decoration to add another layer of visual interest and a touch of whimsy.
Provide small pieces of dark chocolate, which are not only indulgent but also offer health benefits.
Give everyone a chance to win with a fun scratch to win game!
The prizes can be the essential oil diffuser used in the chair massage room and the set of oils, plus other spa-themed related prizes too.
A neck massager is a great prize to offer.
You can even include the tiered food server used for the dessert bar as a prize!
