I’m so glad you found me because that means you have a huge desire to do great things for your school community.
And you have questions about how to run a better school parent group, whether it’s a PTO, PTA or another school parent organization.
Like how to be the best volunteer…
And how to be the run a successful group…
And most importantly, how to not have it all take over your life!
You’re in the right place!
Here at PTO Answers, I know all too well the challenges of trying to fit volunteer time to an already packed schedule full of responsibilities.
You need more than just a desire to give back and do good things for the students and teachers.
You need great resources (which you’ll find here).
You also need a strong support system.
Just like all smart volunteers, simple guidance is a blessing because life is complex and you should never have to apologize for not knowing all the things.
You can become a really successful (and confident) leader in your PTO / PTA without it turning into another job or everything becoming completely overwhelming.
You just have to know how and I’m going to show you how to do that!

I’m Christina Hidek, PTO and family engagement expert.
I remember when I first started out as a PTA leader.
I was overwhelmed by the possibilities and terrified about the reality of what I’d just signed up for when I didn’t know what I was doing.
But over the past decade plus of experience as five time President to Room Parent and everything in between, I’ve learned hard lessons from missteps and enjoyed plenty of wins too!
My background as an attorney and Professional Organizer helped me be a better PTA volunteer, and to create a rich resources for volunteers, teachers and school leaders collaborating for a stronger school community.
I started PTO Answers started because I wasn’t seeing realistic guidance or clear answers about how to actually run my school parent group with ease.
I was finding lots of lame (and rather vanilla) advice that didn’t address what I was actually dealing with.
Ultimately, I was left to figure it out on my own.
Fast forward to today and I’ve largely done just that.
I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I know a lot and am here to help others run awesome PTO/PTAs too.
Take your first step to enjoying your time as a volunteer more by signing up for my free guide that’ll help you avoid embarrassing mistakes too many volunteers make.
Enter your name and email address and I’ll send it to you!
Christina in Action

At Trunk or Treat with my son, brother and nephew.
I started this event when I was serving as the Family Fun Chair for both the lower and elementary schools.
It was an instant hit and the next year, we invited all lower elementary schools in our school district to participate.
This event been running every year since and is one of the traditions I’m most proud of starting in my children’s school district.
Here I am with PTA co-conspirators at the end of the school year field day.
This event started with a spark of an idea from the PE teacher and grew into a much anticipated day of fun that ran annually for many years until 2020.

At a Special Persons dance with a PTA bestie.
This event is an inclusive and fresh take on the Mother-Son or Father Daughter Dance and allowed students to bring an adult as their guest.
Some students brought neighbors, Aunts, cousins, Grandmothers or siblings.
So fun!
